Staff Introductions: Brenna

Brenna

Brenna behind the bar!

Name: Brenna

Role at The Birch: Bartender

Background

  1. Where are you from originally?
Originally from WA State but spent the last 15 years in Boston, MA

  2. Have you worked in beer/hospitality before The Birch? (Tell us where!)
Most recently I worked at Cambridge Brewing Company until their unfortunate closure and before that at Lord Hobo Bar.

  3. What first got you interested in beer?
My friend Roslyn. I actually thought I hated beer and she made it her personal mission to introduce me to the world of craft beer.

Beer + Cheese

  1. First beer you ever loved: Broken Angel by Trillium

  2. Favorite beer style right now: Pilsner (but Belgians and Sours are always up there too)

  3. Current draft you’re most excited about: Rites of Spring

  4. Favorite cheese or pairing you’d recommend to guests: Deer Creek Cheddar with Streamline Pale Ale

Just for Fun

  1. If you were a beer, what style would you be and why?
My gut is saying farmhouse. Little funky, not 100% sure what you'll get but usually refreshing

  2. What’s your ultimate comfort food (besides grilled cheese 😉)?
    Bisquits and Gravy!

  3. Song you’d put on the jukebox every shift: I can't pick! My music taste is all over the board!

  4. Hidden talent or fun fact most people don’t know: I used to train horses?

Looking Ahead

  1. A beer style you’d like to learn more about:
Not one specific style, but I'd like to learn more about the lesser known styles and what makes them different.

  2. If you could visit any brewery in the world, where would you go?
There are so many but Cantillion has always been at the top of my list

  3. What do you hope guests take away when they visit The Birch?
    A new beer they like!
