43 Hours of Sour Bottle Edition
43 Hours of Sour: Bottle Edition
Over the years, The Birch has built an incredible cellar of sour beers from around the world — everything from funky farmhouse ales to tart fruit bombs. For one week only, we’re opening the vault and pouring from our bottle list to celebrate the beers that made 43 Hours of Sour legendary.
We'll have some keg sours, but the bottles will be the highlight! More details to follow!
The Grape Conversation: A Beer and Wine Tasting
The Grape Conversation
Wednesday October 29th 5:30-6:30pm
43 Hours of Sour: Bottle Edition
We’re teaming up with our friend, Anne Cameron, at In Good Company for a side-by-side tasting that blurs the lines between beer and wine.
Four Tilquin lambics made with wine grapes — Gewürztraminer, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, and Syrah — will be poured alongside four wines made from those same grapes. Together, we’ll explore how one fruit can tell two completely different stories.
It’s not a competition — it’s a conversation. A guided, casual tasting led by two women who love what they pour and aren’t afraid to geek out about it.
Your reservation includes tasting pours of each selection paired with its counterpart! The total cost of the reservation is $55.00, the $20 deposit charged today will be applied to the final tab and is non refundable. We will also be offering a cheese pairing board for $17.00 to snack on while we taste!

Smoked Beer Preservation Day
"July 23rd is Smokebeer preservation day: On this date in 1635 the first smoke free malt drying machine was patented. As a consequence smoke free beer became dominant all over the world and the original smokebeer was turned into a rare, almost extinct speciality. Only in Bamberg the traditional fire kiln was continuously preserved: At Schlenkerla the fire still burns today in the maltings."
We'll have a keg of Aecht Schlenkerla Helles Märzen on tap and our table top s'mores. Chelsea Bakehouse will be celebrating with a special pizza featuring gorgonzola, fontina, smoked brisket, and pickled onions!
