The Birch was only three months old when the Earthquake and Tsunami disaster happened on March 11, 2011 in Japan. When we heard that the Kiuchi Brewery had stopped production to bottle water for nearby villages, despite their buildings sustaining their own damage, we wanted to help.

St. Kiuchi Day was an event created by The Birch thirteen years ago. What started as an event featuring only a case of Hitachino beer has turned into a full brewery tap takeover and tasting event! Every year we continue to donate a portion of the sales to a cause.
